We want to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for Brian Matthey and his team at the Mortgage Professionals. Brian has always provided solid and strategic advice from the initial mortgage we took out through Brian to purchase our home that had an excellent rate and very flexible terms that would have been more challenging for us to obtain on our own, to some later refinancing we did to manage home improvement projects. We really appreciate Brian’s ongoing contact with us through regular e-mails where he continues to share financial advice and updates on trends and changes in the mortgage industry. It was as a result of one of these recent e-mail updates that we contacted Brian who gave us very good advice about switching our 10-year fixed mortgage to a 5-year one. We were able to obtain a 5-year fixed mortgage at a rate of 2.79% (down from our current rate of 3.89%). We were offered a discounted penalty on our 10-year mortgage to make the change ($1,691.50) and were able to roll the costs of the penalty into the new mortgage, which also has the same flexible terms as our earlier one. As a result, even after the penalty is accounted for, we will save $10,000 in the difference in interest paid over the next 5 years. As well, with maintaining our current biweekly payment, the balance of the mortgage 5 years out will be about $12,000 less than it would have been under the 10-year rate. We would not hesitate to recommend Brian and his team to anyone who is looking to obtain the best mortgage they can when purchasing a home, or to anyone who is looking for solid professional advice on the potential to better the mortgage they already have. Hi Brian, I took your advice from the news letter and did an early renewal from MCAP. I called your office (when you were on vacation) and spoke to your assistant to double check on MCAP's offer. I went from 3.69% to 2.69%! After the penalty is paid off, I will end up saving about 7000$ in interest in the next 5 years. Needless to say, thanks for the heads up! Jamie and Julia.

I have used Brian's services for the last 10 years for both residential and seasonal properties for both purchases and renewals. His service has always been second to none. First, I have never been able to find a rate that he couldn't beat, but more importantly, Brian conducts his business with integrity. Last year, I went to renew my mortgage and at that time, there were a lot of deals to be had... money back etc. Brian could have sold me a product and pocketed the commission, but he didn't. He walked my wife an I through all the numbers and demonstrated to us how we could save money, and shave time off our mortgage (shaving off some of his commission too!) I appreciate his service so much, that I have referred my parents and family from Toronto to him. Funny, my brother in law was gobsmacked when he couldn't find a better deal in Toronto.
